Help travelers discover the Grand Strand like a local

We welcome original story ideas from residents, experienced visitors, writers, photographers, and subject-matter experts who can make a Myrtle Beach trip easier, richer, or more memorable.

What makes a strong pitch?
A useful angle, real Grand Strand knowledge, and a clear plan for supporting important details.
  • Specific enough to be genuinely useful
  • Original and not published elsewhere
  • Written for visitors, not search engines
  • Transparent about business relationships

Stories we want

Show readers something they can use

Plan a better trip

Practical itineraries, seasonal advice, rainy-day plans, budget ideas, and what visitors should know before they arrive.

Share local knowledge

Specific Grand Strand food, culture, history, outdoors, neighborhoods, and traditions reported with care.

Serve more travelers

Firsthand guidance for families, multigenerational groups, and travelers with accessibility needs.

Contributor guidelines

Pitch first. Build the story together.

Please send an idea rather than a completed article. If the pitch fits, we will discuss scope, sources, images, revisions, attribution, and publication terms before asking for a draft.

1. Send a focused idea

Explain the visitor question, your angle, and why you are equipped to answer it.

2. Complete editorial review

We check fit, originality, conflicts, sourcing needs, and overlap with planned coverage.

3. Agree on the assignment

An accepted pitch receives a defined brief. A pitch alone is not a publication commitment.

4. Report, revise, and publish

Published work is edited for accuracy, clarity, accessibility, voice, and visitor usefulness.

Editorial standards and boundaries

These standards protect readers, contributors, and the people and places we cover.

Every contribution must

  • Be original and available exclusively for our review.
  • Distinguish firsthand experience, sourced facts, and personal opinion.
  • Disclose free stays, meals, products, employment, clients, ownership, affiliate interests, and other relevant ties.
  • Use only words, photos, and other materials you have the right to submit.
  • Accept fact-checking and reasonable editing before publication.

We do not accept

  • Link-placement pitches or keyword-stuffed articles.
  • Undisclosed advertorial, copied work, fabricated experience, or unverified claims.
  • Casino, gambling, adult, illegal-drug, deceptive financial, or unrelated promotional content.
  • Attacks on people or businesses, political campaigning, or content that creates avoidable safety or privacy risks.
