Myrtle Beach's Best is being built so visitors can discover the Grand Strand across a range of devices, input methods, and assistive technologies.

## Current approach

- Semantic landmarks and consistent heading structure.
- Keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators.
- Support for system color and reduced-motion preferences.
- Readable contrast and layouts that reflow on zoom.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Essential directory content available without JavaScript.
- Clear labels and instructions for forms and controls.

On July 22, 2026, automated browser checks reported no axe-detected WCAG 2.0 or 2.1 Level A or AA violations on the representative public routes in the test build. The suite also verified the first-focus skip link, the absence of positive tab order, and representative layouts at 320, 768, and 1440 CSS pixels.

Full keyboard-only task review and calibrated screen-reader smoke testing remain before launch. The planned matrix includes NVDA with Firefox and Narrator with Edge on Windows, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack with Chrome on Android. Automated results apply only to the tested build, routes, rules, and fixtures; this statement is not a claim of formal conformance or third-party certification.
